Cape Town - Legendary flyhalf Dan Carter has predicted another 3-0 series win for the All Blacks against the British and Irish Lions.
Carter was a star for the All Blacks when they outclassed the Lions during their last visit to New Zealand in 2005.
Back then, the All Blacks won the first Test in Christchurch 21-3, the second in Wellington 48-18 and the third in Auckland 38-19.
The Lions have also started their 2017 tour on a stuttering note, winning only two out of four games to date.
In an interview with The Telegraph, Carter said he envisages a closer series than the 3-0 mauling the All Blacks inflicted on the tourists in 2005, but he is confident of “the same end result”, claiming the Lions have been “poor” in the execution of their skills.
“I'm a pretty one-eyed All Black supporter and I am hoping for the same end result, although I think it'll be a bit closer than the last series," Carter told the English publication.
“You've seen the dangers the All Blacks have in their backline. If they've got ball going forward, it can be a long night at the office, so the Lions pack really need to step up and dominate up front if they're going to have a chance."
The 35-year-old Carter played 112 Tests for the All Blacks between 2003 and 2015.
He quit Test rugby after winning the 2015 World Cup and joined French Top 14 outfit Racing 92.
The first Test of the 2017 series is scheduled for Eden Park in Auckland on June 24, the second for Westpac Stadium in Wellington on July 1, with the final Test also at Eden Park on July 8.
