Bolla moves to Boland

2009-12-15 09:39

Cape Town - Former Western Province Springbok scrumhalf Bolla Conradie, will turn out for the Boland Kavaliers in the Absa Currie Cup's First Division next season.

Conradie will fill the huge gap left by Marnus Hugo when he joined the Griquas a few weeks ago.

Last season at Western Province, he was behind both Ricky January and Dewaldt Duvenage for a starting berth, so with regular game time, Conradie could soon be back to his best.

The Kavaliers, who will be coached by former Lions mentor Loffie Eloff next season, also signed Emerging Springbok lock Nikolai Blignaut from the Sharks and crack Pumas centre Tyron Hysse.

Boland's first friendly match early next year is against the Stormers in Cape Town's new soccer stadium.

  • edward - 2009-12-15 11:44

The Stormers have now lost the two best scrum halves in World rugby in January and Conradie. Does Erasmus know what he is doing?

  • Cassie - 2009-12-15 11:59

Well Bolla, welcome to the Boland, I am sure you will make a huge positive impact on the team. i have always rated you as one of the best in SA rugby. Just a pity some of our so called rugby brains differs, but look at the result, not actually better then yours. Ever since Bolla and Quentin Davids left the WP, they could never do it positive. by neglecting a lot of our players, WP has lost tons of talent due to the brilliant guys, must say thats why the Bulls, Cheetas, Sharks and Lions are taking them all, and then we buy them back at a huge price. Good luck bolla and show these guys. The same has been said about Rose and look what he did at the end of year tour.

  • morne visser - 2009-12-15 12:56

van een morne aan n ander. morne(..), jy is n dom, rassis. jy moet eerder f&k*f australia toe asseblief.

  • Wynboer - 2009-12-15 15:00

  • Koekemoer - 2009-12-15 16:19

MORNE VISSER, ..ons lewe in 'n rassistiese land.

  • FG - 2009-12-15 19:41

@Wynboer. My magtag, man, dis die onsensitiefste aanmerking denkbaar! Watse mens is jy.

  • Wynboer - 2009-12-15 20:30

@FG, Die realiteit maak seer ne??

  • Mooi Bolla! - 2009-12-16 00:54

Wel Bolla was nie die wêreld se beste op sy dae nie maar was beslis nie sleg nie.So gelike as ou Joost so "geteaze' is deur Bolla. Dream on poe!h&l! Nee ek bly nie in Aus nie.

  • Daniel - 2009-12-16 22:17

Uhm Edward I dont think we are watching the same rugby...Not January or Conradie is good enough 2 be in the stormers team....But good luck 2 Bolla this might just his chance 2 regain some form

  • Seeps - 2009-12-17 08:49

Fact remains Bolla is a crap rugby player........ there are too many quality scrumhalves in the country so maybe he should've rather gone to the French 3rd division and still earned plenty bucks in his old age. Nonetheless he's a local boy so good luck Bolla and hopefully you can atleast your career with a bang.

  • piet - 2009-12-17 09:37

@Wynboer, @Seeps, I am getting so tired of you people crucifying our people in SA sports. But when it comes to Joost vdw, Percy, and also Jake White, his things in France, but they are treated as heroes. It was not necessary to mention about his personal life. I can name a lot of others in SA sports. But we are looking at the output of their game not their personal life. Get a life, or go to Rugga of Stoney Steenkamp. Cause all of you clubs wanted to go, and ja, now Rugga dies, a silent death

  • Morne (..) - 2009-12-17 11:43

Bolla gaan druiwe/klei trap!!!

  • Danville Aktetas - 2009-12-17 15:50

Good riddance Bolla, hope you can make the step up to First Division. You are "a never was".

  • Jaws - 2009-12-18 21:50

We really have a problem in SA that just does not want to go's called ignorance!!! Take Kevin for instance......boetie, you are a prime example of that!! Morne states that Bolla should go and 'trap druiwe' and you automaticallyt assume he is a racist. Sad boetie, very very sad!! Bolla was never really good and that you must admit. not for the Bokke anyway!!

  • Dave - 2009-12-19 10:20

I am a Boland supporter and want to know if all of you ever seen a Boland macth, if not stick it. Welcome to Boland Bolla, We know you will make a difference. I just wonder if Bolla was a so called white person if the comments would have been the same. What about Rose. Maybe if he was white he would also be in the Boks team like Ruaan Pienaar. Cause his daddy played for the boks.
