Cape Town - Former Springbok captain Morne du Plessis has called for South Africans to get behind coach Pieter de Villiers and his team ahead of the World Cup in New Zealand next year.
"If we don't know now if the coach can do it in eight months time, we will never know," du Plessis told the Cape Town Press Club on Tuesday.
"We have to stop fussing about it. The team that plays on Saturday is my team. The coach is my coach."
Du Plessis said the Springboks were blessed with an "incredible depth" of players.
"We are playing without some famous faces out there. Fourie du Preez, Jacques Fourie, Schalk Burger. You could go on and on. We have such depth."
The All Blacks, he said, "are peaking at just the right time".
