Barbarians call-up O'Connor

London - James O'Connor, the hero of Australia's dramatic Bledisloe Cup win over New Zealand last weekend, has been added to the Barbarians squad for next month's match against South Africa at Twickenham.

O'Connor, yet to play for the Barbarians, converted his own last minute try as the Wallabies defeated the All Blacks 26-24 in Hong Kong.

Several leading southern hemisphere players have been selected behind the scrum for by the Barbarians, rugby union's leading invitational side, for the non-cap international against world champions South Africa on December 4.

O'Connor's fellow Wallaby backs Matt Giteau, Will Genia and Drew Mitchell are in the squad, as are New Zealand's Joe Rokocoko and Ma'a Nonu.

France fly-half Francois Trinh-Duc has also been included despite being ruled out of his country's November programme with a hamstring injury.

The Barbarians forwards include New Zealand duo Keven Mealamu and Rodney So'oialo as well as John Hayes, Ireland's most-capped player.

Australia, New Zealand and South Africa are now involved in European tours.

The Wallabies face Wales in Cardiff on Saturday when New Zealand, looking to complete a grand slam of wins against all four British Isles nations, face England at Twickenham and South Africa take on Ireland in Dublin.
