Bordeaux - Top 14 new-boys Bordeaux-Begles signed experienced South African prop Bees Roux on Sunday on a temporary contract after they lost four props to injury.
The 29-year-old - who played for Clermont three years ago - will arrive this week as a replacement for Nicolas Decamps, who has ruptured ligaments in his left knee.
Roux will be reunited with scrumhalf Heini Adams, who played with him at the Blue Bulls but joined Bordeaux-Begles before last season.
Bordeaux-Begles will welcome back front row forwards Silviu Florea and Ole Avei from the World Cup this week, but have already lost props Boris Bethery, Decamps, Patrick Toetu and Franck Labbe - all to injury.
Bordeaux have made a respectable start to their campaign, presently lying fifth from bottom on nine points with two victories from their six matches.
Roux pleaded guilty last month to charges of culpable homicide and driving under the influence after the murder of metro police officer Johannes Mogale in August last year.
He reached a plea bargain agreement with the State and avoided jail time. He agreed to pay the victim's family R750 000 and was given a five-year suspended sentence.
His contract was not renewed by the Blue Bulls last week after he was found guilty at a Blue Bulls disciplinary hearing for training with the Pumas rugby team without the union's consent. His dismissal at the Bulls was immediate.
