Bees Roux gets R100 000 bail

Johannesburg – Blue Bulls prop Bees Roux has been granted R100 000 bail and will remain in detention until he is able to pay this amount.

According to Devereaux Morkel, Jacaranda 94.2 reporter tweeting from court, Roux’s case has been postponed until October 15.

The magistrate in Roux’s case earlier on Monday declared it a schedule-six transgression .

Roux appeared in court on Monday on charges of murder and drunk driving.

Roux was pulled over in the early hours on Friday by metro police, apparently because he was driving under the influence. There was an altercation between him and Sergeant Ntshimane Johannes Mohale, 38, after which Roux allegedly assaulted him.

According to Associated Press, Roux's lawyer says his client intends to plead not guilty. He says Roux claims his car was being stolen and that he was acting in self defence.
