Cape Town - Springbok and Stormers centre Jean de Villiers's wife, Marlie, has given birth to a baby girl on Wednesday.

De Villiers confirmed the news on his Facebook page, writing: Hallo almal! Layli Cardea De Villiers is 07:32 vandag gebore op 35 weke en weeg 2,44 kg. Ma en Layli sterk goed aan. Dankie vir al die boodskappe."  (Hello everyone, Layli Cardea de Villiers was born at 07:32 this morning at 35 weeks and weighed 2.44kg. Mother and Layli are doing well. Thank you for all the messages.)

The De Villiers's were married in August 2010.
