5 Bulls stars in Japan

Cape Town - While the Bulls are hard at work ahead of next year’s Super Rugby competition, five key players will return from Japan at a later stage.

The Bulls on Monday announced their Super Rugby squad for the new season, and confirmed that Grant Hattingh, Handre Pollard, JJ Engelbrecht, Bjorn Basson and Jesse Kriel will only join up with the squad in January next year.

A number of injured players will also join the fray as they complete rehabilitation.

The injured players are: Deon Stegmann, Jannes Kirsten, Nick de Jager and Travis Ismaiel (all to return in December), Irne Herbst, Morne Mellett, Jaco Visagie, Roelof Smit, Ruan Steenkamp, Hanro Liebenberg, Piet van Zyl, Dries Swanepoel and Warrick Gelant (January) and Callie Visagie (February).

The Bulls also indicated that they will play the Cheetahs in a pre-season game in Zimbabwe on February 6, while they start their season-proper with an away clash against the Stormers in Cape Town on February 27.
