Top 6 must-watch weekend sporting events

Cape Town - It's the weekend!

But the sporting world never sleeps, so hang on tight and be sure to watch these SIX events (in no particular order)!

1. PROTEAS V BANGLADESH

There are some new faces in and around the Proteas camp, and a win in Potchefstroom will do wonders for the busy schedule that lay ahead this summer.

Can Faf du Plessis and his men tame the Tigers?

Play starts at 10:00 with the Proteas hopefully on top!

2. ENGLISH PREMIERSHIP EXTRAVAGANZA!

The English Premiership is here to keep us entertained all through Saturday and Sunday.

Some of the biggest fixtures include the Red Devils facing the trouble Crystal Palace (Kick-off on Saturday, 16:00) and then the epic battle between Antonio Conte's men and the in-form Manchester City (Kick-off on Saturday, 18:30).

Then we end off the weekend to see relegated Newcastle face Liverpool (Kick-off on Sunday, 17:30).

3. MALAYSIA GRAND PRIX

The Formula One circus roars into Kuala Lumpur this weekend with all eyes on the fierce battle between Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel and Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton.

Vettel trails Hamilton in this year's drivers' standings and a win for the Briton will further extend his lead on top.

However, let's not overlook a determined Valtteri Bottas and a dangerous Daniel Ricciardo...

4. CURRIE CUP

In this weekend's of action, we have the Sharks hosting the Golden Lions in Durban on Friday (19:15).

Then we're in Kimberley, where the Griquas battle against the defending champions, the Free State Cheetahs on Saturday (14:00).

We end off at Loftus for the much-anticipated duel between the Blue Bulls and Western Province on Sunday (14:30).

5. PRESIDENTS CUP

It's America v the rest of the world!

The Presidents Cup has arrived at Liberty National Golf Course in New York and all eyes will be the world's best golfers battling for pride.

Can our very own Louis Oosthuizen, Branden Grace and Charl Schwartzel break the USA's winning streak and take the International Team to victory?

6. SPRINGBOKS V WALLABIES

The Rugby Championship is back in SA soil.

The Springboks look to bounce back from their unsettling loss to the All Blacks by taking on the Wallabies in Bloemfontein (Kick-off at 17:05).

Meanwhile in Buenos Aires, the almighty All Blacks face a determined Los Pumas at 0:40 SA time.

Who will reign supreme? Will we see any upsets? All these questions and more will be answered on Sport24...
