Top 5 must-watch weekend sporting events

Cape Town - It's the weekend!

But the sporting world never sleeps, so hang on tight and be sure to watch these FIVE events (in no particular order)!

1. MTN8 SEMI-FINALS

We're down to the final four of the MTN8 semi-finals.

Some of the mouthwatering fixtures include SuperSport United hosting Maritzburg United (Saturday at 20:15) then we see the defending champions, Bidwest Wits taking on Cape Town City (Sunday at 15:30).

2. BELGIAN GRAND PRIX

Start your engines!

The Formula One circus roars back into action this weekend - this time at Francorchamps.

With all eyes on the fierce battle between Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel.

But let's not overlook the silent but deadly Valtteri Bottas...

3. ENGLISH PREMIERSHIP EXTRAVAGANZA!

The English Premiership is here to keep us entertained all Saturday and Sunday.

Some of the biggest fixtures include Leicester City travelling to Old Trafford to take on Jose Mourinho's outfit (Kick-off on Saturday. 18:30).

On Sunday, we have the epic clashes between the reigning champions Chelsea and Everton (Kick-off is at 14:30) and then we travel to Anfield, as Liverpool battle against Arsenal (Kick-off is at 17:00).

4. SPRINGBOKS v ARGENTINA

The Rugby Championship is back this weekend!

The first mouthwatering encounter gets underway in Dunedin where the All Blacks will be looking to make it two-from-two as they host the Wallabies (Kick-off on Saturday at 09:35).

Then we change gear to see if the RED Springboks can defeat Argentina at home (Kick-off at 21:40 SA time).

Who will reign supreme? Will we see any upsets? All these questions and more will be answered on Sport24...

5. FLOYD MAYWEATHER v CONOR MCGREGOR

The fight everyone has been waiting for is here!

On Sunday (5:30 SA time), the clash of the heavyweights will see Mayweather and McGregor superfight in Las Vegas.

The undefeated American boxer and the Irish UFC star meet in a 12-round contest - under boxing rules - that is tipped to become the richest fight in history.

This is one you do NOT want to miss!
