Top 5 must-watch weekend sporting events

Cape Town - It's the weekend!

But the sporting world never sleeps, so hang on tight and be sure to watch these FIVE events (in no particular order)!

1. PSL

The 2017/18 PSL season is back!

The action gets right into the swing of things as defending champions, Bidwest Wits take on a Cape Town City on Friday (20:00).

Then we head to the Lucas Moripe Stadium, as SuperSport United are looking for a first Tshwane derby league win over Mamelodi Sundowns (15:00 SA time).

2. CURRIE CUP

In a full weekend of action, Western Province will host the Golden Lions in Cape Town on Friday (19:00).

Then we're in Bloemfontein, where the Free State Cheetahs take on the Blue Bulls in a repeat of last year's final on Saturday (14:05).

We end off in Kimberley, as the Griquas will take on the Pumas on Sunday (14:30)

3. ENGLISH PREMIERSHIP EXTRAVAGANZA!

The English Premiership is here to keep us entertained all through Saturday and Sunday.

Some of the biggest and most mouthwatering fixtures include Crystal Palace travelling to Anfield to take on Jurgen Klopp's men (Kick-off on Saturday, 16:00).

Then we have an epic clash between the reigning champions and runner-ups with Tottenham Spurs battle Chelsea (Kick-off is at 17:00).

4. BAFANA BAFANA V ZAMBIA

It's a must-win for Bafana Bafana as a win could see them qualify for the African Nations Championship in 2018.

Bafana will be without their coach Stuart Baxter, but assistant coach Thabo Senong will manage South Africa for the second leg of the 2018 CHAN qualifiers in Zambia.

Kick-off on Saturday is at 15:00.

5. RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP

The Rugby Championship is back in business!

The first mouthwatering encounter gets underway in Sydney where the Wallabies kick things off as they host the almighty All Blacks (Kick-off on Saturday at 12:05).

Then we change gear to see if Allister Coetzee and his men can keep their winning momentum as the Springboks take on Argentina in Port Elizabeth (Kick-off at 17:05 SA time).

Who will reign supreme? Will we see any upsets? All these questions and more will be answered on Sport24...
