Top 4 must-watch weekend sporting events

Cape Town - It's the weekend!

But the sporting world never sleeps, so hang on tight and be sure to watch these FOUR events (in no particular order)!

1. ENGLISH PREMIERSHIP EXTRAVAGANZA!

The English Premiership is here to keep us entertained throughout Saturday and Sunday.

Some of the fixtures include Manchester United hosting Brighton & Hove Albion (Saturday, 17:00 SA time) and then we have the heavyweight clash between Liverpool and Chelsea (Saturday, 19:30 SA time) at Anfield.

We end off the weekend's Premier League action with our log leaders Manchester City as they try and maintain their unbeaten streak when they take on Huddersfield Town (Sunday, 18:00 SA time).

2. 1ST ASHES TEST

The Ashes kicks off at the Gabba!

The first of five Tests is already underway Down Under. Will England be able to defend the urn or will Australia prevail at home?

3. CAF CONFEDERATION CUP FINAL

The second leg of the Confederation Cup final gets underway on Saturday between SuperSport United and TP Mazembe.

Eric Tinkler's men have an opportunity to become the first South African team to win the tournament. However, they trail the Democratic of Congo outfit 2-1 heading to Pretoria.

Kick-off at the Lucas Moripe Stadium is at 20:30.

4. ITALY V SPRINGBOKS

Stadio Euganeo is the setting for the hugely anticipated Test between the Azzurri and the Springboks.

The Boks are coming from a narrow victory over France last weekend and the last thing Allister Coetzee and company need is another defeat against the Italians.

Kick-off on Saturday is at 16:00 SA time.
