1. PARALYMPIANS PUT SA ON THE MAP

A trio of Paralympic medallists were in heat action for South Africa on day six of the IPC Athletics World Championships in London.

Double Rio Paralympic sprint gold medallist and already a gold medallist over 200m in London, Charl du Toit ran the T37 100m, while Hilton Langenhoven and Jonathan Ntutu were in T12 action, over 200m.

Proteas opener Laura Wolvaardt is just 18, but she has the maturity of a seasoned professional...

Wolvaardt was part of the South Africa's ICC Women's Cricket World Cup squad that lost to England in the thrilling semi-final.

Wolvaardt finds herself performing at a time in which interest in the women's game has reached new heights in South Africa.

3. LE CLOS IS ONE TO WATCH

It's the FINA World Champions in Budapest!

South Africa's Chad le Clos is among one of the big names and this time he has a point to prove. 

Le Close is expected to be a force over 100 and 200m butterfly in Hungary, as well as the 200m freestyle.

4. THE 40-YEAR-OLD DEBUTANT PROTEA?

Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen said he has not ruled out resurrecting his international career with his native South Africa.

Yes, the same 'KP' that tattooed the three lions of the England emblem on his right arm...

But that's all in the past now! (Not all South Africans though - read their responses)

Pietersen wants to make his international debut for the Proteas in 2019 - even though he'll be pushing 40 when he requalifies.
