Cape Town - This week Sport24 readers commented on Benni's debut goal for Orlando Pirates, Jake White said Bryan Habana's wing was a potential Achilles heel for the Springbok defence and Graeme Smith walked down the aisle.

Benni back in the '18 area'

Benni McCarthy scored inside 10 minutes, coming on as a substitute, to help Orlando Pirates get their Absa Premiership title defence off to a good start, by beating Black Leopards 2-0 in their match at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

“Well done that is the best way to silence the critics. Where are all the idiots with the fat jokes?” – Tommy2

“You've got to admit it: the boy has class and composure. A few more training sessions, he'll be back on the prowl.” - Setshutshu

“Fat ja, but deadly in the box.” – desmond.thurston

“Give that man a Happy Meal!” – Observer

White: Habana a weak link

Jake White has expressed misgivings about the Springbok defence, highlighting Bryan Habana’s wing as a potential Achilles heel.

“Agree with you there Jake. Habana is useless! Comes off his line, leaves holes! Beast played better on the wing than Hablunder!” – Bellakanoose

“I get that Jake feels the needs to give his input, but did his Bok team not lose 49-0 to the Wallabies before the 2007 world cup and lose to Ireland? Just asking...” – Licketyspit

“If we lose against the AB's on Saturday it will be the first whitewash for the Boks in Tri-Nations history, just another accolade for Peter de Villiers collection.” – Whatsiananame

“Habana is by far our best option on the left wing. Do you really think guys like Mvovo or Basson would be able to play half the game Habana consistently delivers with the meagre amount of ball he gets?” – Hanjo

“All Jake is doing is spreading negativity. The Tri Nations means nothing in World Cup Year.” - Licketyspit

“Jake White your arrogance is astounding.” – AJ

“Defense was bad all over against the Aussies, but especially out wide. Holes everywhere though, it was just a few desperate tackles that saved a whitewash. Habana does have the annoying habit of playing out of position and creating overlaps for opponents through missed attempted intercepts. “ – Chum scrubber

Graeme Smith says 'I do'

Proteas' Test skipper Graeme Smith tied the knot with wife Morgan Deane in Cape Town.

“What a catch, Graeme!” – Hayden

“Well done skipper, may you both live happily ever after!” – Ray

“Good on you, Biff!” – Mr White

“They make such a lovely couple.” – Gossipgirl58

“Enjoy your honeymoon *wink* *wink* and get ready to silence all of the idiotic critics when you get back.” - JC

Congratulations Biff! (Gallo Images)
