Cape Town - Comments this week from our Sport24 readers have focused on the shock revelations of Herschelle Gibbs's biography, To the Point.

Everyone had a different opinion regarding the release of Herschelle's warts and all book.

There were the Herschelle haters...

Cullinan responds to Gibbs

“What goes on tour should stay on tour.” - Peter

“Herschelle you sold out your friends and colleagues, and basically ended your own career prematurely for a quick buck. I hope it was worth it.” – Gibbs-hater

“Your whining about Cullinan ‘blowing the whistle’ is a minor issue by comparison to what you have revealed in your book” – Gibbs

“You can kiss your cricket career goodbye Gibbs.” – BT,

“Bragging about the notches on your bed-post is childish and pathetic.” - Jay

“Gibbs should have also been banned for life.” – Roy

“Gibbs whole cricket career will be remembered for the words immortalised by Mark Waugh: ‘You just dropped the World Cup, sonny.’” - Waugh

Love him or hate him, one thing is certain: Gibbs has only confirmed reports of his 'bad boy' image. (Gallo Images)

There were the Herschelle fans...

Gibbs: Bats, balls and bonking

“Gibbs was my role model as a cricketer, not as a person.”  - J

“One word ‘438’: enough said” - Gibbs-best Protea ever

“Gibbs is a living legend who is now being crucified for speaking his mind. He is being lambasted for speaking the truth.” – relive

“Well done Herschelle. At least you have the guts to say what so many are afraid to say” – Chris

“Gibbs is an effing rockstar!”  - Drunkdriving

“Pleased to see that somebody scored on that 00/01 tour.” – Cire

“They came hunting, often in packs, and if they liked what they saw, you were in for the ride of your life.” - excerpt from To the Point, Herschelle recounts a laundry list of sexcapades in his book, and admits he was a lousy husband to his wife Tenielle. (Gallo Images)

There were those who focused on the revelations in the book and the responses...

Gibbs: I've been very open

“Roger Telemachus was fined R1 000? That must be the most expensive fart in history.” - G-Force

“The truth hurts Graeme! Your little clique has come to an end thank goodness. Well done Hersch, give em hell!”  - Zee

“Cullinan is an envious tittle-tattling, moral finger-wagging nerdy chipmunk, whispering and urging behind the scenes with power figures and writing poncy letters of 'clarification' to push his agenda. Herschelle has balls and is a liberated individual, who had fun on and off the pitch. 11 Herschelles would have won the World Cup already.” - Gibbs fan

“Darryl was a player of substance and integrity. A gentleman playing a gentleman’s game. A rarity in the modern game.” - Three balls

Herschelle's tale has often been seen as one of unfulfilled potential and it remains to be seen if his career can survive the scandal of his startling revelations. (Gallo Images)

But will 'To the Point' sell?

Gibbs's book a sell-out

“This book sounds like a riveting read. I can’t wait to buy my copy!” – Lance

“Gibbs is morally bankrupt. An alcoholic and druggie, he cheated on his wife and was involved in match fixing. I wouldn't read his book if you paid me.”  - Pete

“Now there is one more thing DC is never going to read, besides Warne's flipper.” - Zack
