Yankees fan strikes back

Cape Town - A New York Yankees fan has lodged a lawsuit against two commentators for $10 million after he was caught sleeping live on air.

According the BBC, Yankees fan Andrew Robert Rector has filed a lawsuit against the commentators who made light of him during a television broadcast of the Yankees versus Boston Red Sox match.

The fan is distraught after the pair of commentators belittled him while the cameras showed him asleep during the game.

Rector is claiming the match announcers, Dan Shulman and John Kruk, used derogatory words like "fatty" and "stupid" while he caught some shut eye.

In the initial legal papers filed at the Bronx Supreme Court,  the Yankees fan claims to have suffered "substantial injury" to his "character and reputation" and "mental anguish, loss of future income and loss of earning capacity" after being mocked live on air by the commentators.

It is not only Shulman and Kruk who might be in hot water as the lawsuit also lists ESPN, Major League Baseball and the Yankees as defendants in the case.
