10) Joseba Beloki/Lance Armstrong

Lance Armstrong is forced off the road after Joseba Beloki's crash, but keeps his cool and rides 'cross country style' and stays in the race.

9) Marcus Burhardt (2007)

Marcus Burhardt's crashes into a dog in Stage 9 of the 2007 Tour de France.

8) Lance Armstrong (2003)

Lance Armstrong's incredible crash & recovery on Stage 15 of the 2003 tour.

7)  Bernard Hinault (1985)

Bernard Hinault breaks his nose in a head-first crash.

6) Jens Voigt (2009)

Jens Voigt's horrific crash in the 2009 Tour de France.

5) Wim Van Est (1951)

Van Est was chasing the leaders on the descent of the Col d'Aubisque in the 1951 Tour de France when he slipped away and fell into a 70m-deep ravine. Miraculously, he survived the fall.

4) Sandy Casar (2007)

Sandy Casar runs over a dog (and then goes on to win Stage 18 of the 2007 Tour de France). Frederick Willems was also knocked down.

3) Djamolidine Abdujaparov (1991)

The Tashkent terror Djamolidine Abdujaparov crashes on the final stage of the 1991 Tour de France while in the green jersey.

2)  Flecha and Hoogerland (2011)

Juan Antonio Flecha gets hit by a French TV car causing him to crash and send Johnny Hoogerland flying into a barbwire fence!

1) Laurent Jalabart (1994)

Laurent Jalabart crashes into a policeman on the side of the road near the finish line, causing carnage in the peloton's sprint finish.
