Movistar target podium finish

Paris - The Movistar team, led by Spain's Alejandro Valverde, are targeting a podium finish in this year's Tour de France which gets underway on Saturday.

"There are lots of riders who are capable of making the podium," said Eusebio Unzue, Movistar's general manager, at the Spanish team's unveiling on Monday.

"Aside from Valverde we've got strong riders such as (Juanjo) Cobo, back competing in a major Tour after his victory in the Vuelta in 2011.

"He lines up in good form and I'm expecting him to have a good Tour so that he can defend his Vuelta title."

Movistar team:

Juanjo Cobo (ESP), Rui Costa (POR), Imanol Erviti (ESP), Ivan Gutierrez (ESP), Vladimir Karpets (RUS), Vasil Kiryienka (BLR), Ruben Plaza (ESP), Jose Joaquin Rojas (ESP), Alejandro Valverde (ESP)
