Lampre opt for experience

Paris - Italian cycling team Lampre on Tuesday named an experienced line-up, with an average age of 31 years, in their bid for the Tour de France which gets underway this weekend in Liege, Belgium.

Italians Alessandro Petacchi, 38, a former points jersey winner on the Tour, and Michele Scarponi, 32, will be their most experienced riders.

Grega Bole (SLO), Danilo Hondo (GER), Yuriy Krivtsov (FRA), Matthew Lloyd (AUS), Marco Marzano (ITA), Alessandro Petacchi (ITA), Michele Scarponi (ITA), Simone Stortoni (ITA), Davide Vigano (ITA)
