Team SA hit by withdrawals

Cape Town - South Africa's 100m breaststroke London Olympic gold medal winner Cameron van der Burgh has pulled out of the FINA World Short Course Championships in Istanbul next week.

Van der Burgh confirmed the news on Twitter on Thursday, writing: Hey guys, Decided to pull out of the World Champs in Turkey this year! 

Roland Schoeman has also been forced to withdraw from the team because of injury, national coach Graham Hill confirmed.

Chad le Clos will spearhead South Africa's 23-strong squad to Turkey.
