SA relay quartet qualify for final

Cape Town - There was good news for SA swimming fans on Friday as the men's 4x50m freestyle relay team qualified for the final at the FINA Short Course Swimming World Championships.

The team, swimming in the third and final heat, and comprising of Douglas Erasmus, Bradley Tandy, Chad le Clos and Eben Vorster, finished third in a time of 1:26.95.

That time was good enough for fifth overall - and a spot in Saturday morning's (SA time) final.

The USA posted the fastest time of 1:25.01.

After three days of action in the pool, Team SA lie tied fourth in the medal standings, thanks to Le Clos' three medals (two golds and a silver).

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
