SA’s Bruwer KO’d in Ukraine

Cape Town - South African veteran Daniel Bruwer was knocked out in the seventh round of a cruiserweight fight in Ukraine on Saturday night.

Oleksandr Usyk, a 2012 London Olympic Games gold-medal winner, won inside the distance for the fifth consecutive time, taking his record to 5-0.

Bruwer, who failed to get up after being hit with a left hook, dropped to 24-6, with one draw and 21 shortcut wins.
