Pretoria - The South African women’s hockey team beat Scotland 4-2 in their Test at Tshwane University of Technology on Saturday.
The South Africans led 3-0 at half-time before the Scots launched strong second-half fightback. They pulled it back to 3-2 before a goal at the death saw South Africa run out 4-2 victors and take a 2-0 lead in the five-Test series.
South Africa’s goals came from Kelly Madsen (seventh minute), Lilian du Plessis (21st and 70th) and captain Sulette Damons (29th), while Scotland netted through Linda Clement (53rd) and Nikki Lloyd (67th).
SA won the first Test 5-3 on Friday night while the third Test is at 15:00 on Sunday.
