J&B Met horse tweets!

Cape Town - 2014 SA Equus Horse of the Year and one of the favourites for Saturday's J&B Met at Kenilworth racecourse, Legislate, has his own Twitter account.

There has been uncertainly over whether the champion three-year-old will take part in this weekend's R2.5 million race over 2 000m, especially after his last-place finish in the recent L'Ormarins Queen's Plate.

A lung wash post-race revealed mucous, puss and blood.

Legislate "tweeted" the latest news regarding his well-being on Tuesday: "We will only know if I'm running Friday. You can bet now while the odds are better, because if I am on course Sat I'll be 100%."

In the latest SportingBet betting, Legislate has drifted to 7/2 third-favourite, behind Louis The King (5/2) and Queen's Plate winner, Futura (11/4).

Meanwhile, Legislate put his troubles behind him and enjoyed a roll in the sand at Muizenberg beach on Tuesday.
