Johannesburg - It was a full house of gold medals for Ashleigh Moolman Pasio when she won gold in the Elite women's road at the African Cycling African Road Championships race in Pietermaritzburg on Friday.
Lise Olivier was second, followed by Hadnet Kidane.
Moolman Pasio added the Elite women's road race title to her time trial win at the Championships.
"The team work from the girls today (on Friday) was really great. We had to work hard for a long time because we could not drop the Ethiopian rider (Kidane) which is a credit to her and how well she rode," said Moolman Pasio.
There was a group of three that broke away from the main peloton in the race and they ended up on the podium.
It has been a memorable early season for Moolman Pasio who now adds the continental titles to her national titles that she won recently but she admits that the second part of the season is her main focus with some major events coming up.
"If I am honest I am not looking to peak early in the season with my main focus being the back end of the season in Europe as the main goal because our points start counting towards Olympic qualification," she said.
