Cape Town - Multiple South African Olympic swimmer, Roland Schoeman, has tweeted a picture of a very green-looking pool a day before the SA Aquatics Championships are due to start in Port Elizabeth.
Schoeman tweeted on Sunday: First photo of the SA trials swimming pool. Trials start tomorrow.
To which SA golfing star Trevor Immelman replied: Is it green cause its Masters week?
Schoeman, a four-time Olympian, makes his return from injury and will hope to produce the same form that saw him finish sixth in the final of the men’s 50m freestyle at the London Games last July.
The 32-year-old, a three-time Olympic medallist, will go head-to-head with Leith Shankland and Chad le Clos, which is expected to be one of the highlights of the championships.
Schoeman and Le Clos will also be involved in a tussle when they face off in the 50m butterfly.
The championships signal the start of preparations for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
