Schoeman to swim Midmar Mile

Pietermaritzburg - South African Olympic gold medallist Roland Schoeman has confirmed that he will be taking part in the 2011 aQuelle Midmar Mile at Midmar Dam in Kwazulu Natal this weekend.

Schoeman will come out in support of Charlene Wittstock's fund-raising drive for the Special Olympics by swimming next to the future Princess of Monaco and German star Franzisca van Almsick in the opening event on Saturday.

Schoeman's support added to the long list of top class swimmers and celebrities that have converged on the 38th annual event that is certain to break their Guinness Book of Records World record of 13 755 finishers.
