Rosario - The South Africa women's hockey team will be looking to the old and the new to lift them to another upset hockey World Cup victory in Rosario, Argentina on Thursday night.
Captain and midfield general Marsha Marescia will be playing her 203rd international, hockey legend Pietie Coetzee is getting closer to 200 goals in 200 Test matches and 20-year-old World Cup debutant Sulette Damons will be looking for another wonder goal as world number 12 South Africa take on the world's third-ranked China.
The match will be televised live on SuperSport 5 from 19:30.
"South Africa head coach Giles Bonnet is a great tactician and will have an astute game plan for tonight's match against China," said Western Province coach Wayne Denne.
Denne added: "I was very proud of the ladies against Spain but the train doesn't end there. China is a massive game and for 70 minutes South Africa must compete and score goals, and ensure we don't let in any soft goals through our defence."
"Our strikers showed against Spain that they can create and convert their opportunities and if we can maintain more possession going forward, our strikers will score more goals," said Southern Gauteng coach Ryan Milella.
In earlier matches this week, a hurting China were upset 2-1 by world number 11 South Korea and then upstaged 1-0 by world number six, England.
South Africa went down 5-2 to world number two Argentina's Las Leonas (lionesses) before shocking world number eight Spain 2-1.
In last night's matches Australia's Hockeyroos beat India 6-3, defending champions the Netherlands accounted for New Zealand's Black Sticks 7-3 and Germany shaded Japan 2-1.
