SA hockey men claim bronze

Randburg - The South African men's hockey team upset world No 8 Argentina to win the bronze medal match of the Champions Challenge tournament at the Randburg Hockey Stadium on Sunday.

The South Africans won 3-1, after leading 2-1 at half-time.

World No 13 SA struck bronze via a trademark penalty corner by top tournament scorer Justin Reid-Ross of Northern Blues plus action goals from Taine Paton of KZN Raiders and Western Province’s Lloyd Norris-Jones.

The gold medal match between world hockey giants India and Belgium, who have already qualified for the London Olympics, kicks off at 16:30 on Sunday.
