Zuma lauds Paralympians

Johannesburg - President Jacob Zuma on Sunday congratulated the SA Paralympics team on their sterling performance at the Paralympic Games in London.

"On behalf of government and all South Africans we extend our heartiest congratulations to the South African team for your significant achievement," Zuma said in a statement.

"You have indeed done us all proud. We applaud you for your determination. You have showed us that one can achieve anything if they put their minds to it."

As the Games were closing on Sunday, the South African team ends them with a total of 29 medals - eight gold, 12 silver and nine bronze.
