Team SA get warm welcome

Johannesburg - South Africa's athletes returned from the 2012 London Paralympics to an enthusiastic welcome at OR Tambo International Airport on Tuesday.

"I never expected it to be like this. I've never seen anything like this," said sprinter Oscar Pistorius.

The enthusiasm of the crowds was not dampened by a nearly two-hour delay of the athletes' flight.

From the moment they stepped through the doors, they were greeted with loud cheers and the blare of vuvuzelas

The welcoming ceremony also included a public presentation of cheques from the SA Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (Sascoc) to medal winners.
