Rio de Janeiro - We knew he was here somewhere, and eventually we found him!
Minister of Sports and Recreation Fikile Mbalula is in Rio where he is showing his support for Team South Africa.
He watched on as the Blitzboks secured the bronze medal on Thursday at the Deodoro Stadium with a 54-14 win over Japan.
Sport24 caught up with Mbalula after the match and he was full of praise for coach Neil Powell and his charges.
"Well done, boys. We're proud of you ... South Africa is proud of you," Mbalula said.
"You didn't come here to become a statistic ... you are the pride of South Africa."
Mbalula, in familiar fashion, also referred to the Blitzboks as a "bunch of winners".
