WATCH: International journos pour into Rio

Rio de Janeiro - Journalists from all over the globe continue to pour into Rio de Janeiro as the 2016 Olympic Games loom large.

In total, there will be well over 7000 accredited media professionals in Rio and judging by the lines that were forming outside of the official media centre on Thursday, most of them have arrived.

In addition, there will be around 25000 volunteers in operation throughout the course of the Games. They have been positioned at airports, train stations, bus stops, event venues and pretty much everywhere to aid athletes, spectators and everyone associated with the Games find there way around.

The opening ceremony takes place at Maracana Stadium on Friday.
