PICS: Love wins as Sevens star accepts proposal

Cape Town - Love wins! Well in this case for Brazilian Sevens player, Isadora Cerullo, who received a marriage proposal from her girlfriend, Marjorie Enya, following the women’s medal ceremony on Monday.

Soon after the medals ceremony at Deodoro Stadium, which saw Australia clinching the gold medal, Enya walked on to the field and professed her love to her girlfriend of two years.

Photographers and television cameras caught Enya asking a teary eyed sevens star, Cerulla, who accepted her hand in marriage.

"As soon as I knew she was in the squad I thought I have to make this special," Enya told BBC Sport.

"I know rugby people are amazing and they would embrace it."

Twenty-eight-year-old Enya popped the question without a ring and instead tied a ribbon around her soon-to-be wife’s finger.

Brazil failed to reach the podium, after finishing third in their Group C and making it unable for them to qualify for the quarter-finals.
