Le Clos sneaks into 200m freestyle final

Cape Town - South Africa's Chad le Clos has qualified for the final of the men's 200m freestyle final at the Rio Olympics.

Le Clos, swimming in the second semi-final, posted the seventh-fastest time to sneak into the final.

Le Clos' time of 1:45:94 was good enough for fifth-best in his semi-final, which was won by China's Sun Yang in the fastest overall time (1:44:63).

Le Clos' South African team-mate Myles Brown finished sixth in his semi-final (1:46:57) and failed to qualify for the final.

The final will take place at 03:21 (SA time) on Tuesday.
