Kenya Sevens chasing gold

Rio de Janeiro - Kenya's Rugby Sevens team is confident of bringing home a medal from Rio, according to head coach Benjamin Ayimba.

The Kenyans are in Group C with Great Britain, New Zealand, and Japan, and face the British in their first Preliminary match on Tuesday.

"We are chasing the gold. That has been our song for last season," Ayimba said. "We've gone through the Rugby Sevens World Series season knowing that's our goal for the Olympics and we are confident in it."

Kenya headed to Rio in confident mood after an impressive showing at the World Rugby Sevens tournament, where they finished seventh.
