Cape Town - South African swimmer Chad Ho has finished in tenth place in the 10km open water swim at the Rio Olympics.
He finished in a time of 1:53.04, just five seconds behind winner Ferry Weertman of the Netherlands who took gold in 1.52.59.
Ho made up over a minute on the leaders over the final half of the race after a slow start.
Spiros Gianniotis (Greece) finished second with Marc-Antoine Olivier (France) in third.
