Cape Town - Bafana Bafana playmaker Keagan Dolly says his team's first goal is to make it out of the group stages at the Rio Olympic Games.
The Bafana team is in Group A of the competition alongside hosts Brazil, Denmark and Iraq.
The South Africans will be looking to beat the odds in the tough group and qualify for the semi-finals.
An 18-member under-23 team, including two overage players Eric Mathoho and Itumeleng Khune, will represent the country.
The Mamelodi Sundowns star has full faith that the squad can compete with the best in the world.
"I think we do have the team to go all the way and qualify [for the knockout stages]," Dolly told The Sowetan.
"We know it will be tough. We are playing the hosts‚ but for us it is not to respect them. It is knowing our qualities and believing in ourselves, just work as a team.
"I think we have a good team going to the Olympics‚ with the inclusion of Matoho and Khune. I think we need that experience.
"We were struggling defending set-pieces, but I think with Khune and Matoho there‚ this will help us a lot."
