Cape Town - Caster Semenya has cruised through her heat in the women's 800m at the Rio Olympics on Wednesday.

Semenya, running in heat 2 (of 8), posted a time of 1:59.31 in taking the victory.
The semi-finals for the 800m will take place on Friday (02:15 SA time), with the final scheduled for Sunday (02:15 SA time).
Semenya is widely expected to add a gold medal to South Africa's Rio tally.
