Amaglug-glug to play Brazilian Police

Brasilia - The SA men’s Olympic team has secured a practice match against the Brazilian Police Department in Brasilia, as reported by the SAFA website.

This is part of their preparations for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games in Brazil starting next week.

The match is scheduled for Friday, 29 July 2016 at Minas Tenis Clube.

Kickoff is at 10:00 local time (15:00 SA time).

Coach Owen Da Gama, believes that they will be able to reach their objectives with the practise match.

“We would have loved to play another country, and we did try to arrange with other countries, however, they were not available. We also made enquiries with local clubs but nothing came of it,” said Da Gama.

“We will play the police team in order to accomplish our objectives, which are, to firstly assist the players in getting the feel of the high tempo, and, secondly, to acclimatise to the conditions of a real match situation.”
