Johannesburg - The African National Congress congratulated South Africa's Olympic team on Friday for winning three gold medals in London.
"We are thrilled and honoured by the commitment and the dedication of our athletes at the Olympics," spokesperson Jackson Mthembu said.
The party appreciated swimming sensation Chad Le Clos for winning a second gold medal for the country when he beat defending champion Michael Phelps on Tuesday.
The rowing team did the country proud by clinching South Africa's first Olympic gold medal in rowing, and the South African team's third gold medal.
"We call upon everyone in the country to show their support to all the athletes who will... be participating again today."
