Leipzig - Lance Armstrong insisted on Sunday he will be aiming to win an eighth Tour de France title when he competes in the 2010 race with his new venture Team Radioshack.
The 37-year-old won seven consecutive Tour titles between 1999 and 2005, but left his retirement to finish third behind Spanish winner and Astana team-mate Alberto Contador and Luxemburg's Andy Schleck of Saxo Bank in this year's race.
Armstrong will be racing with his new venture Team Radioshack next year and his duel with Contador is sure to be one of the main battles of the 2010 Tour.
"My goal is to win the Tour," said the Texan in an interview on Eurosport before insisting saying he will be stronger for next year's race.
"I will go into the race with self-confidence although I know that Alberto is really good."
Armstrong also admitted there was a genuine personality clash between him and Astana-leader Contador during this year's Tour.
"There were real, genuine tensions (within the team)," he said.
"Also different people were involved, and therefore on more than one occasion there was silence at the evening meal."
And Armstrong said he hopes some of the Astana riders, like Germany's Andreas Kloeden, Levi Leipheimer of the United States and Yaroslav Popovych of the Ukraine, will race with him for Radioshack.
