Cape Town - Team South Africa claimed their second gold medal of the day at the Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday when Reinhardt Hamman won the F38 javelin event.
Hamman, the current world champion, threw a distance of 50.96 to edge out Luis Fernando Lucumi Villegas (Colombia) and Javad Hardani (Iran).
Earlier in the day, Ernst van Dyk won gold in the cycling road race.
Team SA now have 11 medals at the event which ends on Sunday.
