Cape Town - Michael Bisping is currently on media duties all over the U.K after his big UFC 199 win where he knocked out Luke Rockhold to become the new UFC middleweight champion. Since his win there have been rumours of possible fights with Dan Henderson and Georges St-Pierre, who at the time was retired.
St-Pierre appeared on Mondays episode of The MMA Hour and told Ariel Helwani that he is making his return to the cage and would love to face the UFC's middleweight king in his first fight back. "He's the man to beat now," St-Pierre said. "He's beaten Anderson Silva and Luke Rockhold."
During a recent sit down with BTSport Bisping addressed the St-Pierre fight rumours stating that if he wants the fight he would in short knock the former welterweight champion out.
"Well there have been rumblings. When I say rumblings I'm talking about rumblings from people that know GSP and perhaps people that train GSP who have perhaps reached out to people who train me and there have been rumblings of this fight.
"Listen if Georges St-Pierre wants to come out of retirement.. I love GSP, he's an incredible fighter, a legend of the sport, the biggest pay-per-view draw that there was for a long-long time. The consummate professional. Georges is amazing... but if he wants to get knocked out, I'm in."
The wheels regarding this fight are slowly but surely starting to gain some forward momentum. While it is all rumour and speculation the UFC has shown in the past that if two fighters want to fight each other the deal will be done and they will fight. Let's hope this is the case for this one.
