Cape Town - According to widespread reports, WWE superstar Batista has been cast as the villain in the next James Bond movie.

Dave Bautista, who wrestles under the name Batista, became a Hollywood star thanks to his role as Drax the Destroyer in the blockbuster box office hit, Guardians of the Galaxy.

The WWE website issued a statement as well, stating: Unconfirmed reports indicate that The Animal is in negotiations to star as the villain Hinx opposite Daniel Craig's 007 in the next installment of the legendary franchise. According to casting reports, the producers were looking for a physically imposing male with a unique look and a sports background - a description that fits Batista perfectly.

Sam Mendes' Bond 24 film is due to start filming in December this year and is aimed at an opening date of October 23, 2015 in the UK and November 6, 2015 in the USA.
