Harlem Globetrotters sold!

Washington - The Harlem Globetrotters basketball troupe has been sold to Herschend Family Entertainment Corporation, America's largest theme attractions company.

Terms of the acquisition from Shamrock Capital Advisors were not announced, although HFE said the team's active player roster and management would not change.

The purchase was announced on the team website on Monday night.

The team of clownish basketball whizzes goes back to 1926, and over the years it has played 25 000 games in 122 countries and territories.

They now play over 400 live games per year, reaching over three million fans in 30 countries.
