Cape Town - South Africa's Wenda Nel has qualified for the women's 400m hurdle semi-final at the IAAF World Championships in London.
Nel, who ran in lane 7, made a strong start and crossed the finish line in second place in heat 4 with a time of 55.47.
America's Kori Carter won the heat as she stopped the clock in 54.99, as Great Britain's Eilidh Doyle finished third in 55.49.
Dalilah Muhammad of the United States was the fast athlete over the five heats with a time of 54.59 which she posted in winning heat 1.
The semi-final of the women's 400m hurdles takes place on Tuesday (21:35 SA time).
