Writing on his Sportsfire Daily blog last Friday, Joffe revealed that he'd received a late-night phone call from an acquaintance three months ago, who said: “Graeme, they’re coming to get you, get to a place of safety, don’t go to any public places, get out of your apartment. Call me if you need any help”'.

Mere days later Joffe arrived in the US.

Joffe took to his Facebook account to thank all those who'd posted messages of support, writing,I am extremely grateful for all the messages of support. It's been overwhelming & has inspired me to fight on. SA's athletes deserve so much better!
