Van der Burgh claims SA's first medal

Cape Town - Cameron van der Burgh has won South Africa's first medal at the Rio Olympics.

Van der Burgh, the defending champion in the 100m breaststroke from the 2012 London Games, had to settle for silver this time around, in a time of 58.69.

Great Britain's Adam Peaty surged to the gold medal in a new world record time of 57.13.
