Le Clos, drawn in Lane 4, is expected to face his stiffest opposition from Poland's Pawel Korzeniowski and China's Wu Peng.

Meanwhile, Cameron van der Burgh has been heavily backed to add the 50m breaststroke title to the 100m silver he won on Monday.
Like Le Clos, Van der Burgh was the fastest qualifier into Wednesday evening's final, posting a time of 26.81 in the semi-finals, 0.14 outside of his current world record of 26.67.
A second South African, Giulio Zorzi, will also contest the final. Zorzi has been drawn in Lane 8.
The men's 50m breaststroke race is scheduled for 18:41 SA time.
